Our History
A women-led movement for compassion, peace, and a future full of possibility.
YWCA South Sudan has served communities for over 20 years as a trusted advocate for women’s rights and social justice. Since its establishment, the organization has expanded its reach across multiple states, implementing humanitarian and development programmes that promote gender equality, peace, economic empowerment, protection, health, education, and community resilience through strong partnerships. Projects completed: YWCA South Sudan has successfully implemented numerous donor-funded projects in gender-based violence prevention and response, women’s empowerment, peacebuilding, psychosocial support, WASH, youth leadership, governance, humanitarian response, and community resilience.
